Prohibition of disposable plastics in the European Union

The following products will be phased out in the EU by 2021:

• Disposable plastic cutlery (forks, knives, spoons, and chopsticks)

• Disposable plastic dishes

• Plastic straws

• Cotton swabs with plastic parts

• Plastic balloon bases

• Oxidizable plastics

• Food and beverage packaging from expanded polystyrene (Styrofoam)
